Gertrude Maria Lampl Riley

Gertrude Maria Lampl Riley, 82, of 634 Wansley Road, Tignall, formerly of Lakeland, Florida, wife of the late Halbin Luverne Riley, Jr., passed away Monday morning, September 3, 2012, at Heritage Healthcare of Wilkes in Washington. Mrs. Riley was born in Vienna, Austria, April 17, 1930, to the late Leopold Josef Lampl and Anna Wenzl Lampl. She was a homemaker. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and their husbands, Susanna M. and Thomas P. Allen of Lakeland, Florida and Rebecca A. and Russell R. Patten of Tignall, Georgia; brother-in-law, Billy Wayne and Karol Riley; sister-in-law, Mary and J.R. Harrell; three grandchildren, Shawna M. Carter, Jason W. Soper, and Jacob A. Soper; four great-grandchildren, Alex O'Dell, Skylar O'Dell, Camryn Soper, and Layton Soper; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Anna M. Robbins and a nephew, Thomas Robbins. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at 6PM Thursday, September 6, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Chapman officiating.
