Gladelle Glenn Dixon

Mrs. Gladelle Glenn Dixon, age 78, of Elberton passed away September 14, 2009 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Dixon was born in Oglethorpe County, Georgia to the late Joseph Reece Glenn and Louise Carlisle Glenn.She was a long-time member of Eliam United Methodist Church, and she had been a resident at Nancy Hart Nursing Home for the last four years.Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George Martin Dixon. She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa (Lynn) Lee; son, Gary (Amy)Dixon; grandchildren, Kaylee and Brandon Dixon and Mitchell and Miranda Lee, all of Elberton; sisters, JoAnn Evans of Elberton, and Eudora Huyck of Tignall. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 15, at 4:00pm in the Hicks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Albert Huyck and Rev. Wes Privett officiating.Interment will follow at Fortsonia Community Cemetery.The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.At all other times the family will be at the residence of Randall and Martha Gunter, 2383 Washington Highway, Elberton.Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to T.J. and Friends, 1675 Deep Creek Road, Dewy Rose 30634.
