Grace Herndon Shadburn

Grace Herndon Shadburn, 94, died peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 22, 2018 at Vineville United Methodist Church Chapel, Macon, Georgia. Dr. Marcus Tripp will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service.

Mrs. Shadburn was born on November 4, 1923 in Soperton, Georgia, her parents were the late
Mamie Price Herndon and James Hubert Herndon. She attended Georgia State College for
Women in Milledgeville. She was a realtor in Macon for more than twenty five years and
enjoyed helping people find homes. Her hobbies included sewing, reading and gardening. She
was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Shadburn was the widow of Cecil Edward Shadburn and was preceded in death by her
brothers Wilson Herndon, Willard Herndon and Jack Herndon, and her sisters Pauline Medlin,
Jean Smith, Peggy Davis and Betty Perry.

Mrs. Shadburn is survived by her children Linda (John) Hendrix , Carol (Mixon) Robinson and
Cecil Shadburn, Jr.; grandchildren Gracen Thompson, Carol Hendrix and Mary Ward Hendrix,
Mamie (Bryan) McLean, Mixon Robinson Jr., Maggie Robinson and Jonathan Shadburn ; great
grandchildren Elizabeth Thompson, Caroline McLean, Margaret McLean and Hazel McLean and
many beloved nieces and nephews.
