Mr. Gregory Rhue Henderson, 65, of Grady Cleveland Road, Elberton, husband of 30 years to Judy Annette Atkins Henderson, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at his residence.
Greg was born in Dekalb County on May 15, 1954, son of Shirline Mangum Henderson of Elberton and the late Guy Perry Henderson. He was the owner/operator of Henderson Metal Works in Dewy Rose and a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, rebuilding cars, and hunting. Above all, he loved his family and always made sure children knew they were loved.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and mother, include his children: Jessie Henderson of Elberton and Henry Hank Henderson of Douglasville; children adopted by the heart: Bobby Lee Davis, Mary Pham, and Tuan Doan; grandchildren: Brooklyn, Ariana, Lauren, Farren, and Isaiah; mother-in-law, Maudrie Atkins of Cornelia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Larry and Sheila Atkins of Cornelia, David Atkins of Cornelia, Sandra and Randy Stover of Clarkesville, and Susan and Larry Allgood of Toccoa; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends too many to name.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Machera Renee Henderson; and brother, Michael Henderson.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, February 19, at 2 o’clock at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00p.m. on Tuesday evening.
