Gregory Bryan Tolbert, 66, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, while at home in Athens, GA.
Greg was born in Royston, GA on August 23, 1957, and was raised in Madison County. He was a machinist having worked at Reliance Electric and a member of Living Water Baptist Church in Arnoldsville. Greg was an avid UGA football fan and enjoyed cooking. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Laurie Anne Teaster Tolbert; son, Jeremiah Bryan Tolbert and his wife Melissa of Danielsville, GA; step-children: James Reid Foster and his wife Sam of Winterville, GA and Lawson Jane Lewis and her husband Kenny of Arnoldsville, GA; and brother, Randy Allen Tolbert of Comer, GA. He was a dedicated "Bok Bok" to his six grandchildren: Jamison, Ellison, Skylar, Stella, Kalleigh, and Tatum, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Baylor who is expected soon. Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Jackson Tolbert, Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Hinson Tolbert; brother, Carl Jackson Tolbert, Jr.; and his faithful four-legged companion, Theo.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 21, from 2:00-2:45p.m. at Living Water Baptist Church. Memorial services will follow at 3:00p.m. in the church with the Rev. Derek Paul officiating.
