Guyvin Steven "Guy" Yearwood

Mr. Guyvin Steven “Guy” Yearwood, 73, of Elberton, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Elbert Memorial Hospital with his wife of 37 years, Faye Davis Yearwood, at his side.

Mr. Yearwood was born in Toccoa on January 13, 1951, son of the late Steven David Yearwood and Julia Frances Sorrells Yearwood Pritchett, and step-son of the late Calvin Pritchett. He was a United States veteran having proudly served in both the Army and the National Guard. Guy was of the Pentecostal faith and loved worshipping with Jimmy Swaggart and through music. He worked in the construction industry most of his life, and retired from Elbert County as a heavy equipment operator. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working, fishing, and playing the guitar.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Faye, include his children: Connie Hardewick, Steven Yearwood, Tracy Yearwood, Keith Yearwood, and Cindy Norris; siblings: Carolyn Pritchett, Edith Pritchett, Beverly Payne, and Vickie Parker; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Yearwood.

The family is at the home of Cindy Norris, 1237 Petersburg Road, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home on Sunday, November 6, from 5:00-7:00p.m.

Funeral services celebrating Guy’s life will be held on Monday, November 7, at 2 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Joey Norris officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
