Mr. Hansel Ayers "Billy" Webb, 87, resident of Magnolia Estates, formerly of Lake Forest Drive, Elberton, husband of 63 years to Lois Petrea Webb, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015. Mr. Webb was born in Elbert County on June 12, 1927, to the late Med F. and Daisy Ayers Webb, and was a graduate of Elbert County High School. Billy was retired from Hill and Harper Men's Store and was a former employee of Berry Funeral Home. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton and the church's Victory Sunday School Class. Billy was Past Master of Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25, and a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in WWII. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Lois Petrea Webb of Elberton; children and their spouses: Mike and Glenda Webb of Elberton and Rebecca and Dennis Lam of Martinez; grandchildren: Bridget Graham, Brian Lam, Derrick Webb, and Stephen Lam; great-grandchildren: Aiden Self, Boston Graham, Baylee Graham, and Dillan Webb. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Edna Nash, Jenelle Burton, Mary Dye, Bobbie Harper, P. Dalton Webb, Joe H. Webb, Jack D. Webb, and Rahnal B. Webb. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, March 10, at 3:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Revs. Gary Purvis and Raymond Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. Military Rites will be provided by the U.S. Navy and Masonic Rites will be provided by the Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25. The family is at the residence of Mike and Glenda Webb, 3022 Calhoun Falls Highway, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 2:00p.m. until time for the service on Tuesday afternoon. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Victory Sunday School Class and Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25. The family respectfully requests flowers be omitted.
