Mr. Harry George Hall, 76, a well-known businessman of Elberton, Georgia passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at Emory University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hall was born July 24, 1936 to the late John Speed and Elza Johnson Hall.He was the beloved husband of Linda Garrison Hall, having celebrated almost 57 years of marriage together. Mr. Hall began working on his family’s dairy farm at the age of 8, and operated it as a 15 year-old lad when his father passed away.After working in the granite industry for several years, he built, owned, and operatedLoyal Granite Co.Mr. Hall also owned and operated Soap Box Car Washes in Elberton, Hartwell, and Anderson. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Mary Linda Garrison Hall of the home;daughters: Teresa H. Smith (Danny) of Oglethorpe County, Lori L. Hall of Atlanta, Linda H. Lutz (George) of Elberton, and Donna H. Guest (Jeff) of Kennesaw;and three grandchildren: Garrett K. Johnson (Ashlee), Nicole L. Johnson, and Nathaniel Harrison Guest.He also leaves behind one brother, Edward C. Hall, Sr. (Pat) of Elberton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by a son, Harry Richard Hall;and two sisters, Louise Hill and Lois Brown. A service to celebrate Mr. Hall’s life was held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Akin officiating.Visitation for family and friends was Wednesday evening, February 13 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home. Interment was at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Garrett K. Johnson, Jody M. Hall, Edward C. Hall, Jr., Travis W. Hall, M. Durand Hall, Larry E. Hill, and Dwayne D. Brown.
