Helen Katherine Whelan

Mrs. Helen Katherine Holland Whelan, 90, of Elberton entered into her eternal rest at her home on July 28, 2016.She was born on August 2, 1925 in Vaiden, Mississippi. Left to cherish her memories are her children, David Picarelli (Tanya) of Elberton, Sandra Whelan Landsborough of Malaga, Spain, Joe H. Whelan, Jr. (Lafreda) of Elberton; four grandchildren, Tammy, David, Lisa and Robin Picarelli, several great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; one sister, Pearl Griffin. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph H. Whelan, Sr.; her parents, Lloyd and Emma Holland; brothers, Delmer Holland, Junior Holland, E.L. Holland and Joseph Holland; and sisters, Elba Eyman, Erma Scarborough and Mae Curtis. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lamb and Lion Outreach Church, 950 Elbert Street, Elberton, Georgia.
