Harry Walton Anderson

Harry Walton Anderson of Hull, Georgia, stepped into glory on October 12, 2023, at the age of 84.  A native of Elbert County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Harry Herbert Anderson and Addie Louise Field Anderson.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lanier Anderson.

Mr. Anderson graduated from Elbert County High School, Class of 1957.  He also attended Athens Technical College.  He was a veteran, having served his country as a member of the National Guard.  After a few years as a meat cutter for both Winn-Dixie and Kroger, he changed career fields and retired from AT&T.  He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.  He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Brown Anderson; a daughter, Tami Anderson Maddox (fiancé Mike Gearing); a grandson, Bo Maddox; a granddaughter, Mamie Bettis (Robert); four great-granddaughters: Laiken, Rivyn, Briar, and Lemon Bettis; a brother, Norris “Pete” Anderson (Valgene); and two brothers-in-law: Fred Mulkey and Charlie (Charlene) Brown.  He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.  

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 17, at 2:30 p.m., at Evergreen Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at Bernstein Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
