Henry Thomas Moon

Mr. Henry Thomas Moon, 85, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mr. Moon was the son of the late George Thomas and Addie Smith Moon, and was the husband of the late Edna Swilling Moon.He was the owner/operator of Henry Moon Trucking. Mr. Moon is survived by his sons and their spouses; George and Suzanne Moon of Elberton, and Thomas and Georgia Moon of Dewy Rose;twelve grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-granchildren.He also leaves behind a brother: Jerry Hilley and his wife, Delree, of Greenwood, SC;a sister, Mildred Lucille Hagood of Elberton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife,Mr. Moon was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Floyd Moon, and a grandson, Michael Payton. A service to celebrate Mr. Moon’s life was held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Rev. Douglas Huff officiating.Visitation was Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home.Interment was at Elmhurst Cemetery.
