Herman Thomas Moon

Mr. Herman Thomas Moon, 89, of S. Broad Street, Bowman, GA, was reunited with the love of his life, Mrs. Virginia "Jenny" King Moon, on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at his home.

Mr. Moon was born on August 13, 1926, in Elberton, GA to the late Harvey Moon and Nancy Rousey Moon. He was a member of Bowman Baptist Church where he served as a past deacon. Herman was a U.S. Army Veteran and was retired from Elberton Mills. After his retirement, he started Moon Service Station.

He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer M. Scoggins of Bowman; two grandchildren and their spouses: Codi and Destenie Scoggins and Tiffany and Jon LeCroy; three great-grandchildren: Kylee Scoggins, Lane Scoggins, and Justin Wydick, Jr.; siblings: Aaron and Geraldine Moon, Coy and Martha Moon, Charles “Fud Dud” and Betty Moon, Pauline and Junior Seigler, Barbara Mason, Foye Mae and Bobby Rucker, and Deborah and Bruce Kesler; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Hubert Moon, Darlena Carey, and Beverly Rucker.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 2PM on Friday, April 15, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Petty officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman, GA. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 7-9PM on Thursday night at Berry Funeral Home.
