Hertha Howell Robertson, 94, of Greenville, widow of Ard Teasley Robertson, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Born in Hart County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Ada Brown Howell. Mrs. Robertson retired from Gladding Floatation. She was a former member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church for over sixty years where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and worked with senior citizens. She was a current member of Welcome Baptist Church. Hertha enjoyed gardening, crocheting and reading. She is survived by daughters, Sharon Casey and Jane Oglesby; five grandchildren, Michael Weisner, Carole Anderson, Scott Robertson, Laura Aiken, and Matthew Oglesby; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Grace Veal and Bobbie Kirkland; and brother, Walton Howell. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by son, Wendell Robertson and wife, Shirley; sons-in-law, James Casey and James Oglesby; sister, Ruby Gaines; and brother, Cullen Howell. Visitation was on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Welcome Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Welcome Baptist Church, 2730 Anderson Road, Greenville, SC 29611 or McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Lisa Murphy and Angie Johnson for their love, support, and tenderness shown to our mother.
