Hilda Moore Fleming

Hilda Moore Fleming, 95, of 1141 Grady Cleveland Road, passes away on August 1, 2010 at her home. She was the widow of Renno David "Doc" Fleming. Born in Elbert County, GA on July 4, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Jasper David and Mattie Moore Moore. In Addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Bert Moore, Ralph Moore, J.D. Moore Jr., two sisters, Mildred Moore Fulton, and a twin sister Hazel Moore Holmes, by an infant granddaughter, daughter of Pam and Jack Peace. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Bobby Furcron of Chattanooga, TN, Martha Lee and Stockton Jones of Elberton, GA, and Pam and Jack Peace of Piedmont, SC, also surviving are three granddaughters, Kim Furcron Mabry, Karen Furcron Hollis, Sonya Jones Lee, and one grandson David Stockton Jones, four great grandsons Micah Welch, Elliott Lee, Hendley Jones, and Cameron Hollis, two great-granddaughters Alex Hollis and Kaylor Jones, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Fleming was retired from Gallant Belk in Elberton, where she did alteration and worked mostly in the domestics department. She was a seamstress by trade. She was a long time member of Doves Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4PM at Doves Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Gunter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Earl Scarborough, Randall Moore, Lindy Willis, Russell Butler, Dwayne Moore, and Allen Moore. The family will be at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Martha Lee and Stockton Jones, 1137 Grady Cleveland Road and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home between the hours of 7-9PM Monday night Aug. 2. The family has requested please in lieu of flowers please make memorials in her honor to Doves Creek Baptist Church.
