Holman Saddler

Mr. Holman Saddler, 89, of Campbell Street Ext., Elberton, husband of the late Corine Fortson Saddler, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at his residence.

He was born on December 10, 1930, to the late Holman Fleming and Eula Gaines. Holman worked at Rucker Trucking for thirty years. He gave his life to Christ at an early age, and was a member of Agape Ministries Outreach Church in Elberton. His love was riding around and spending time with his great-grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memories: children, Carolyn D. Huff and Sharon (Lindburg) Teasley, all of Elberton; five sisters, Sue Mae Gaines, Patricia Mathis of Hartford, CT, Janelle Shifflett, Sara (Walter) Calhoun of Elberton, and Audrey (Rufus) Hunley of Atlanta; brother-in-law, Dallas (Willie Mae) Fortson; sisters-in-law, Christine Fortson and Annie Oglesby Fleming; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There were three wonderful caretakers: Holman Huff, Kenzi Porterfield, and Janette Teasley; and a very close friend, Maurice Norwood.

Graveside services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, November 20, at 1 o’clock at Green Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. John Strong officiating.
