Horace Jackson Davis

Mr. Horace Jackson Davis, 97, of Ruckersville Road, Elberton, husband of Lila Lavinia “Tiny” McClain Davis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19th, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Davis was born in Anderson, SC on May 14th, 1922, son of the late William L. Davis and Terrie Byrum Davis. He was a member of Elberton Pentecostal Holiness Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. He moved from Calhoun Falls, SC to Elberton, GA in 1977. Mr. Davis was a retired supervisor from the textile industry having worked with Burlington Textiles.

Survivors include his wife of 78 years: Lila Lavinia “Tiny” McClain Davis; his daughters and son-in-law: Jackie Davis McCurley and John McCurley of Hartwell, GA and Marie Davis of Elberton, GA; grandchildren: Kelly Carrington Jordan, Josh and Katie Carrington, and Laura Carrington, all of Elberton, GA; and great-grandchildren: Abby and Brent Moon of Dewy Rose, GA, Jackson Davis Jordan, Jamie Carrington, Boyd Carrington, and Bryton Davis Carrington, all of Elberton, GA.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Thomas Mark Carrington; and great-grandson, Thomas Candler Jordan.

Funeral services will be held 3PM, on Saturday, February 22nd, at Elberton Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Brian Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2PM to 3PM just prior to the service at Elberton Pentecostal Holiness Church.
