Horace Lee Eavenson

Mr. Horace Lee Eavenson, 83, of Double Bridges Road, Elberton, husband of the late Josephine Anderson Eavenson, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013, at Heardmont Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Eavenson was born on May 7, 1930, in Elbert County to the late Crowley C. and Pearl Eavenson. He was retired from the National Guard, retired from the City of Elberton Water Department, and a member of Concord United Methodist Church. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Libby Eavenson of Elberton; grandchildren and their spouses, Megan and Andrew Richardson of Johnson City, TN and Drew and Taylor Eavenson of Athens; great-grandson, Evan Richardson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by siblings, Don Eavenson, Jeanette Hayes, and Claudine Mann. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, October 21, at 11:00a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Mike Shearon officiating. Private interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will be at the residence of Andy and Libby Eavenson, 2099 Hartwell Highway, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 10:00-11:00a.m. on Monday morning.
