Horace A. Lunsford

Horace A. Lunsford, age 78, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at his residence while he was surrounded by his loving family.  

Horace was born in Elberton where he spent his entire life, and where he attended Harmony Baptist Church for 55 years.  He was a brick mason and a firm believer in a hard work ethic - something he instilled in his two sons from a young age.  Whether it was baiting a hook or working in his garden, Horace loved being outside.  He also had a thirst for anything historical, including collecting artifacts and researching genealogy.

He was preceded in death by parents, Mell Alton Lunsford and Kathleen Taylor Lunsford; and two brothers, Ralph Lunsford and Richard Lunsford.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane Lunsford; two sons, Tom Lunsford (Sue) and Scott Lunsford (Tracy); grandchildren, Cody Lunsford, Joey Lunsford, Shawna Poole, Nikki Largaespada, Chastity Poole, Ayden Lunsford, and Ansley Hunter; great granddaughter, Hayilie Lunsford; and sisters, Roberta Kotal, Sandra Whiting (Kenneth), and Carol Hill (Larry). 

A graveside service will take place at 2:00 P.M. Sunday in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Lynn Kellum officiating.
