Howard Keelin Brown

Mr. Howard ‘Keelin’ Brown left this life way too soon on Sunday, June 13, 2021. He was 44.

Born in Stephens County on July 11, 1976, Keelin was raised in Elberton where he graduated Elbert County High School in 1994. He worked as an electrician all of his life, and had most recently worked as a Project Manager at Prolectric Industrial Contractors in Lavonia. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting, and four-wheeling. Keelin was a devoted family man who was always by his children’s side, from giving much needed advice about life to recommending the latest scary movie that needed to be watched. His giving nature will live on as he gave the gift of a lifetime through organ and tissue donation.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Kelly Autumn Mercer Brown of Canon; children: Larry ‘Adam’ Brown of Athens, Kelsey Sheree Brown of Athens, and Emily Autumn Brown of Canon; parents, Larry Mel Brown and Effie ‘Diane’ Allen Brown of Dewy Rose; brother, Kainan and Amy Brown of Monroe; niece and nephew: Alyssa Brown and Wesley Brown, both of Monroe; parents-in-law, Gerald and Peggy Moore Mercer of Elberton; brother-in-law, Kris “Booty” Mercer of Elberton; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: William Howard and Nellie Gay Ayers Brown and George and Lorena Chitwood Allen.

Funeral services celebrating Keelin’s life will be held on Thursday, June 17, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Pastor Stacy Lynch officiating.

The family is at the residence of Larry and Diane Brown, 2660 Bowman Highway, Dewy Rose, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 2:00-2:45p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
