Mr. Howard Lewis Williams, 74, of Lexington, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Mary’s Health Care. A native of Athens, Georgia, Mr. Williams was the son of the late James and Helen Thaxton Williams.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Leigh Williams, and one sister. Mr. Williams was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, while serving his country in the U.S. Army. During his time of service, he achieved the Rank of E-5. In addition to being a proud U.S. Veteran, he loved NASCAR and all forms of racing as well as football, but most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Linda Pitts Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Michael Hess; grandchildren: Blake (Phaelon) Caldwell, Josh Hess, Lauren Hess, and Michael Hess, Jr. and fiancé, Caitlin; and great-grandchildren, Tristin Caldwell and Madelyn Rae (Maddie) Caldwell.He also leaves behind three sisters and two brothers. A Graveside Service with Military Honors was held Wednesday, September 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the Arnoldsville Cemetery with Rev. Gary Purvis officiating.A time of visitation was held at 10:30 a.m. at the graveside and also immediately following after the service.
