Mrs. Ida Mae Holloman, 85, of Carlton, passed away June 28, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital.A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Edna Cannon. Mrs. Holloman was a retired seamstress and very often attended New Hope Baptist Church.In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by husband, George Benton, daughter, Brenda Glenn and a sister, Elizabeth Gunter. Mrs. Holloman loved shopping especially at the Dollar General and Walmart.She loved making trips to Louisiana with the family.Most importantly, she loved her grandchildren and her children. Survivors include four grandchildren: Troy Glenn (April) of Watkinsville, Teleisha King, Brenda Finch and Mark Arnold; and seven great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Glenn, Hailey Glenn, Keely Glenn, Tanner Rutledge, Joshua King, Samantha King and Matt King.She also leaves behind Polly Arnold, who was like a daughterand was a prominent caregiver to Mrs. Holloman. A graveside service to celebrate Mrs. Holloman’s life was held Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in The Glade Cemetery in Carlton with Rev. Rick Lewis officiating.Mark Arnold II, Tanner Rutledge, Beau Lockeridge, Jamie Watson, Brian Gilley, Ronnie Harrison and Matthew King served as pallbearers. The family received friends Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton was in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Ida Mae Holloman.
