Irvin E. Hover

Mr. Irvin E. Hover, 86, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his home. Mr. Hover was born May 31, 1929 in Belfountain, Ohio to the late Clem Irvin and Ida Petty Hover.He was the husband of Dorothy Anderson Hover, with whom he had celebrated over 62 years of marriage.Mr. Hover was a veteran of the United States Army.While serving in the Korean War, he was wounded on Heart Break Ridge and received the Purple Heart award. Mr. Hover retired from Duress Plastics in Ohio after 23 years of service, and then worked at Allied Signal for 15 years after moving to Georgia.Mr. Hover was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Dottie;a daughter-in-law, Kim Hover;his children and their spouses: Tony and Robin Hover, Cindy and Bryan Dixon, Debbie and Sammy Sanders, and Stacy and Julie Hover, all of Elberton.He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren: Mindy Dixon Black, Amy Dixon Brown, April Dixon Hughes, Jason Sanders, Teela Sanders Czar, Austin Sanders, Heath Hover, Haley Hover, Lauren Hover Moody, Lee Ann Hover, Isabel Hover, Jack Hover, and Sara Kate Hover;and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Hover was preceded in death by his son, Sandy Hover; and three sisters:Irene Clum, Marie Miller, and Audrey Brubaker. A service to celebrate Mr. Hover’s life was held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Coldwater United Methodist Church with Rev. Ann Mann and Rev. Nancy Morgan officiating.Visitation was at 10:00 a.m. just prior to the service.Interment followed with Military Honors at the church cemetery.
