Mrs. Isabel “Bunnie” Frances Fausett Lyle, age 88, passed away surrounded by her family on September 13, 2017. She was born April 18, 1929 in Laurens County, GA to the late Edward Tillman Fausett and Julia Sanders Fausett. Bunnie was preceded in death by her siblings Guyton Fausett, Tillman Fausett, Mary Boatright,and Rebecca Watson. Bunnie was married to the love of her life, James Stuart Lyle, Sr. for 66 years. She was a devoted mother to her children, Fran Rodrigues and husband George of Watkinsville, Jim Lyle and wife Elisa of Carrollton, and Jeff Lyle of Elberton;and grandchildren, Jared Skelton, Chris Adams,and Stuart Lyle III. A 1949 graduate of the University of Georgia, Bunnie was a school teacher and social worker. She enjoyed cooking and genealogy research for herself and others. Bunnie was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, the Elbert County Historical Society, and Colonial Dames. A Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, September 16th at the First Baptist Church of Elberton at 11:30 a.m. with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall.Burial will be in the historic Elmhurst Cemetery.
