Isabel Young Payton

Mrs. Isabel Young Payton, 87, of Elberton, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at her home.A native of Maryville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late, Edward C. and Alice Brewer Young and the widow of William Clifford Payton. Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel of Hicks Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Bryan Smith officiating.The family received friends at the funeral home beginning at 4:30 p.m. until just prior to service time.Entombment followed in the Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Survivors include one daughter and son in law, Billie and Tony Smith, Elberton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Sissie and Chris Samples, Hartwell, Clifford and Nadine Smith, Elberton, Ira and Amie Smith, Elberton, Tony and Misty Smith, Covington and Tonya and Daryl Lee, Cobb, Ga.; twelve great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; and one sister, Charlene Cleveland and her husband, Wendell of Elberton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ruckersville United Methodist Church. Arrangements for Mrs. Isabel Young Payton were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
