J. L. "Bo" Rayle

Mr. James Lynn "Bo" Rayle, 78, of Jaudon Road, Elberton, husband of 53 years to Brenda Wansley Rayle, finished his course in faith on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at his residence surrounded by those he loved most. Mr. Rayle was born in Elbert County on February 4, 1936, to Clyde Dixon Pounds and the late Boozer Rayle. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elberton where he served as teacher of the Mary Freeman Sunday School Class. Bo and his wife owned and operated Central Super Market on North McIntosh Street for 14 years. He built and owned Rayle's Abattoir and Meat Processing Plant from 1982 - 1996 where he was famous for his old fashion country pork sausage. Mr. Rayle was a former employee of Keystone Memorials at his retirement. Bo was a member of the Elberton Elks Lodge and was awarded as Elk of the Year in 2011. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Brenda Wansley Rayle of the home, to whom he married on January 8, 1961; children, Mandy Williams and her husband John, Dixie McCarty and her husband David, and Heath Rayle and his wife Stacey, all of Elberton; mother, Clyde Dixon Pounds of Elberton; sister, Edna George Parham of Elberton; grandchildren, Austin Williams and his wife Hannah, Ty McCarty and his wife Miranda, Sammie Williams, Reed McCarty and his wife Leann, Wyatt Rayle, and Russell Lutz; and great-grandchildren, Landon Williams and Aiden McCarty. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 8, at 11:00a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Elberton with the Rev. Joe Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with grandchildren honored as pallbearers. Willie Mayhue will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family is at the residence on Jaudon Road and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00p.m. on Friday evening.
