Jack Rowe Durham, Sr.

Mr. Jack Rowe Durham, Sr., 91, of Carey Street, Elberton, husband of 70 years to Sara Katherine McMullan Durham, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Durham was born in Elberton on September 11, 1927, son of the late Thomas Paul Durham and Leila Mae Parham Durham. He was a weaver having retired from Elberton Mills and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sara; daughter, Jan Sigman; grandchildren: Drew Durham, Tara and Dwayne Brown, and Ty and Morgan Sigman; great-grandchildren: Caden, Colson, Carlee, Lizzie, and Temperance; and host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jack R. Durham, Jr.; and siblings: Thomas Durham and Laura Jane Spear.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, July 22, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. David McConnell officiating.

The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 2:00-2:45p.m. prior to the service on Monday.
