Mr. James Lester Black, 68, of Elberton, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020.A native of Elberton, he was the son of the late James Calvin and Sara Parham Black. “Bobie”, as he was lovingly called, was also preceded in death by his wife of forty-seven years, Louise Elizabeth Tucker Black and a sister, Linda Taylor. Mr. Black was disabled at an early age but enjoyed hunting and fishing.He was a member of New Town Baptist Church. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James C. “Bo” and Nicole Black, of Elberton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sara & Chad Anderson and Crystal and Chad Algood, all of Elberton; grandchildren, Jace Rhein, Brinston Anderson, Kaytlyn Higginbotham Mills, Tyler Black and Amber Black; one sister, Tonya Black Boggs. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 2p.m. in New Town Baptist Church, Carlton, GA. with Rev. Chuck Black and Bruce Freeland officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at their respective homes and a time of visitation will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 from 6p.m. until 8p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
