James Edward Brown

Mr. James Edward Brown, 74, of Washington Highway, Elberton, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Mesun Hospice in Lawrenceville.

Mr. Brown was born in Madison County on January 17, 1946, son of the late Candler Jefferson “Shine” Brown and Isa Mae Baxter Brown. He retired as a granite polisher in the granite industry after 30 years of service and was a member of River of Life Church.

Survivors include his children: Kevin Stroud of Elberton and Chrissy Brown Winslett of Hartwell; siblings: Florine Royston of Royston, Candler Gene Brown of Elberton, and Janie Ruth “T90” Duvall of Elberton; four grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Colline Brown.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, January 14, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Vineyards Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
