James Edward Maxwell

Mr. James Edward Maxwell, 76, of Curt Bailey Rd. Hartwell, GA passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Mr. Maxwell was born June 28, 1944 in Charleston, SC to Donald Lee Maxwell and Margaret Smith Maxwell. He was a retired upholster, an U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and he attended River of Life Church.

He is survived by daughters: Cindy Maxwell Byrum of Hartwell, GA, Cheryl Maxwell Morris of Hartwell, GA, Kim Maxwell Head of Toccoa, GA; brother: Billy Maxwell of Hartwell, GA, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings: Charlene Bolt, Jannie McAbee, Pam Boston, Jean Whiten, Charley Maxwell and Donald Maxwell, Jr.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 3PM, Tuesday, May 18 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Buffington officiating.

The family will receive friends May 18, 2021 from 2PM to 3PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
