Mr. James Floyd Lord, Jr., 65, of Pine Lake Dr., Elberton, GA passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at Piedmont Athens Regional.
Mr. Lord was born September 14, 1952 in Commerce, GA to James Floyd Lord, Sr. and Naomi Maliece Martin Lord. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton and worked for Sanders Furniture Company.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Marlene Ayers Lord; daughters and sons-in-law: Tracy and Scott Lunsford, Kerri and Nathan Heaton; brother and sister-in-law: Steve and Linnie Lord of Danielsville, GA; sister and brother-in-law: Jennifer and Daniel Vaughn of Bowersville, GA; in-laws: Margaret and Steve Hall, Kenneth and Patricia Ayers, Larry and Phyllis Ayers; grandchildren: Ansley Kate Hunter, Ayden Lunsford, Landon Heaton and Brenner Heaton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a infant granddaughter: Taylor Rose Hunter.
Funeral services will be held 11AM, Wednesday, November 22 at the First Baptist Church of Elberton with Rev. Gary Purvis and Rev. Raymond Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Dewy Rose Baptist Church Cemetery at 1:30PM with members of Elberton Fire Department: Randy Lane, Randall Ruff, Cale Craft, Darrin Driver, Mark Higginbotham and Keith Ingram serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Tuesday night at Berry Funeral Home.
Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in his memory to First Baptist Church Ramp Ministry, 132 Heard St. Elberton, GA 30635 or to T.J. & Friends Foundation PO Box 6161 Elberton, GA 30635.
