Mr. James Edward “Pete” Freeman, 63, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at his home. Mr. Freeman was a native of Royston, Georgia.He was the son of Mrs. Joann Dove Freeman Hart of Hartwell, and the late Henry Lee Freeman.He worked as a tire technician at John Duncan Tire Service, and as an associate with Heritage Building Supply.Mr. Freeman was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his mother, Mr. Freeman is survived by his sister, Diane Bailey (Terry) of Hartwell; his daughters: Judy Hulsey, Donna Lunsford (Randy), and Christie Bolden (Timmy); and his grandchildren: Kevin Willis, Jason Hulsey, Jennifer Craft, Kelly Brown, Joanna Green, Kyle Lunsford, David Bray, and Barbara Bolmon.He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren: Dustin Willis, Nicole Willis, Gage Craft, Paige Craft, Scarlett Bowers, Stella Lunsford, Charlie Lunsford, and Amber Williams; a niece, Jeanieanne Bond, and a nephew, Adam Bailey. In addition to his father, Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by a special friend and mother of his children, Barbara Hall, and a daughter Lynn Green. A Memorial Service to celebrate Mr. Freeman’s life was held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Dewy Rose Baptist Church, with Rev. Kenny Martin and Mr. Jeff Jordan officiating. A time of visitation began at 10:00 a.m. just prior to the service. Flowers were graciously accepted, and memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements for Mr. James “Pete” Freeman were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
