James Edward "Eddie" Grimes

Mr. James Edward Grimes, 67, of Montevideo Road, Elberton, husband of Barbara Arlene Fleming, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at his residence.

Affectionately known as “Eddie” or “Bubba”, he was born in Elberton on May 26, 1957, son of the late Edward Earl Grimes and Shirley Smith Grimes Anderson. He was a 1976 graduate of Samuel Elbert Academy and retired from the construction industry.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Barbara, are his children: Kayla Grimes, Brittney Scott, Brandon Grimes, and Scottie Grimes, all of Danielsville; sister, Pamela Grimes Gurley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Richard Grimes.
