James Grover Segers

James Grover Segers, 76, of 1660 Bodie Rayle Road, Elberton husband of Mattie Davis Segers died Sunday January 24, 2010 at North East GA. Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Born in Hart County, he was a son of the late Henry Segers and Lois Lawrence Segers. He was a retired Truck Driver, he attended the Elberton Church of God, and was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife of the home Mattie Davis Segers, a daughter Joyce Carroll of Elberton, GA. a son Roger Segers of Central, SC, sisters Imogene Brown of Calhoun Falls, SC, Barbara Jordan of Hartwell, GA, Roberta Segers of Elberton, GA, Linda Odell of Elberton, GA, and Genell Powell of Elberton, GA, a brother Charles Segers of Elberton, GA, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Robert Segers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 27, at 3 PM at the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. James Gunn officiating. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will be at the home and will receive friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday night at BErry Funeral HOme. Pallbearers will include Nick White, Josh White, Shawn Williams, Andy Carroll, Justin Segers, and Glen Segers. Honorary pallbearers will include Frankie Morrison, and Reed McCarty. Berry Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. James Grover Segers.
