Mr. James H. “Jimmy” Wilder, 81, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at his home. Mr. Wilder was born in Elberton, Georgia to the late Carl Monroe and Beulah Clayton Wilder.He was the beloved husband of Betty Davis Wilder, with whom he had celebrated over 61 years of marriage, and had worked throughout his life as a master carpenter.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Wilder and Clarence Wilder, and two sisters, Judy Harrison and Marie McCannon. In addition to his wife, Betty, Mr. Wilder is survived by his children: Allen Wilder and his wife, Janet, of Elberton, and Diane Canady and her husband, Roger, of Hartwell;and several grandchildren: Forrest Wilder and wife, Courtney, MacKenzie W. White and husband, Wes, Wesley Martin and wife, Amanda, Henry Harris, and Justin Canady and wife, Glenda.He also leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Atalie White, Gideon, Grace, and Titus Martin, and Payton Harris; and a sister, Lois Reynolds. A service to celebrate Mr. Wilder’s life was held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Rev. Lynn Kellum officiating.A time of visitation began at 3:30 p.m. just prior to the service.Interment followed in Elmhurst Cemetery.
