James Hubert Burnette

Mr. James Hubert Burnette, 81, of Melody Lane, Elberton, husband of the late Hollis Ashworth Burnette, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Country Manor Personal Care Home in Tignall. Mr. Burnette was born in Hart County on June 16, 1934, to the late Roy and Myrtle Sewell Burnette. He was the owner/operator of Burnette Granite Company and a former truck driver. He was a member and former deacon of Elberton Christian Church. Left to cherish her memories are his son, Ray Burnette of Elberton; grandchildren and their spouses: Beth and Kevin Eavenson, Jonathan and Heather Burnette, and Julie and Tony Taylor; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Barbara Simmons, Gladys Lunsford, and Charles Burnette. The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 12:30-2:00p.m. on Sunday, November 29. Prayer services will conclude visitation and private burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery.
