James Lamar Swilling

James Lamar Swilling, 67, of 2249 Indian Hill Road, Elberton, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Houston, Texas, July 26, 1944 to James Bernice Swilling and Arietta Rebecca Moon Swilling. He was a member of Elberton Church of God and a retired stone cutter. Left to cherish his memories are his children, Chris Swilling & Leslie Swilling both of Elberton; Michael Swilling & William Swilling of Athens; Angela Claburn of Alabama, Brittany Bridges of Carlton and Melissa Davis of Athens, Georgia; brother, Presley Gene Swilling; Sister Judy Bonds; Grandchildren: Matthew Woodall, Nicholas Anderson, Brayden Swilling, Ryan Claburn and Kyle Sneed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister: Linda Gail McAnespy. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
