James Lamar Lindsey

Mr. James ‘Lamar’ Lindsey, age 65, of Elberton, passed away on Tuesday, January 05, 2010 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Born on March 17, 1944 in Wilkes County, he was a son of the late Louie Lamar and Ruby Wheatly Lindsey. He was retired from the textile industry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lindsey is preceded in death by his son, Shannon Lamar Lindsey. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Sandra Whidby Lindsey; step-daughter, Michelle Adams, both of Elberton; step-son and daughter-in-law, Zeke and Christy Adams; grandchildren, Brittany and Michael Owens, and Eli Adams, all of Anderson; and sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Charles Smith of Tignall. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 3PM in the Fishing Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Al Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2PM prior to the service at Hicks Funeral Home. Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice. Hicks Funeral Home, Elberton, is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. James Lamar Lindsey.
