James Michael Appleby

Mr. James Michael Appleby, Sr., 71, of Nickville Rd., Elberton passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at his home. Mr. Appleby was born October 10, 1942 in Neptune, New Jersey to the late James Stewart Appleby and Marie Elsie Burhans Killian. He was of the Catholic Faith, a U.S. Navy Veteran, Police Officer in Long Branch for 13 years before retiring from Elbert County Juvenile Justice System as a Probation Officer. Left to cherish his memories are daughters Jean Marie Appleby of Ormond Beach, FL; Lisa Ann Fredien of Austin, TX; Margaret Ann Haller of Port Orange, FL; son James Michael Appleby, Jr. of Bowman, GA; sisters Thea Appleby and Jean Gradishar both of Waco, TX and four grandchildren Drew Appleby of Bowman, Leah Haller and Austin Haller, both of Port Orange, FL, and Lexi Fredien of Austin, Texas. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 5PM, Monday, June 16 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. The Appleby family is at the home on Nickville Rd. and will receive friends from 4-5PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
