James Harry Penland

Mr. James Harry Penland, 90, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Spring Valley Nursing Home. Mr. Penland was born in North Carolina to the late Gordon and Edna Penland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Penland, and a son, Tony Penland. He spent his life as a furniture builder,and thoroughly enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. Mr. Harry is survived by his daughter-in-law, Cindy Penland, and one grandson, T.J. Penland, both of whom he loved dearly.He is also survived by a brother, Tom Penland,and a sister, Martha Justice. A service to celebrate Mr. Penland’s life will be Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home.Visitation will be just prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.Interment will be at Elmhurst Cemetery.
