James Roy Sayer, Jr., 81, formerly of Elberton, husband of the late Gladys Jones Olgiati Sayer, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Heritage Healthcare of Toccoa. Mr. Sayer was born in Elbert County, July 28, 1931, to the late James Roy Sayer, Sr. and Reba Noggle Sayer. He was retired from the City of Elberton Water Treatment Plant, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of Stinchcomb United Methodist Church. Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Joni Fulbright of Toccoa and Debbie Atkins of Anderson; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by one son, Mike Sayer. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 2PM Monday, February 11, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. John Sexton officiating. Interment will follow in Stinchcomb United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 1-2PM Monday, prior to the service.
