James Alexander "Steve" Woody, Jr.

Mr. James Alexander Woody, Jr., known as "Steve" to most, passed away on May 9, 2024, in Elberton, GA at the age of 68.

Born in Gainesville on March 28, 1956, Steve lived most of his life in the Clermont and Gainesville areas. He retired from S.M. Bishop Construction Company and is most remembered as owner/operator of James A. Cafe`. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed fishing and camping; however, his passion was cooking.

Surviving are his children: Stephen Wade Sullens, Christian Tyler Woody, and Vernoica Christine Evers; siblings; Scott Woody, Craig Woody, and Beth Woody; and grandchildren: Cassidy, Cole, Michael, Mason, Matthew, Molly, Marcus, Wyatt, and Waylon. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Alexander Woody, Sr. and Barbara Ann Harrison.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
