Jane D. Shea

Mrs. Jane D. Shea, 67, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 in Athens, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Shea was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late David Russell and Helen Buchner Deener.She was the bride of Peter Dennis Shea, with whom she had celebrated over 35 years of marriage.Jane was a graduate of Newcomb College of Tulane University, and a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Mrs. Shea was retired from the insurance industry, having worked as a claims manager. Jane had a passion for rescuing dogs, and worked closely with theElbert County Humane Society. Jane also enjoyed participating in many community activities.She was a member of the“Keep Elberton Beautiful” group, and enjoyed being a part of the Friendship Quilters group at Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, Mrs. Shea is survived by her husband, Peter Shea; two sons: Kevin Brendan Shea and his wife, Shelia, of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Michael Dwight Shea and his wife, Jessica,of Fairfax, Virginia; and two grandchildren, Alexander Thomas Shea and Molly Elizabeth Shea.She also leaves behind a sister, Karen Deener Depp and her husband, David, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and two nieces, Natalie Depp, and Kristin Depp along with her daughters, Hannah and Lucy Bernick.
