Janie Arlene Moon Sorrow, 89, of Carlton, Georgia, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010, at Cobb Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Sorrow was born in Oglethorpe County on October 30, 1921,to the late John B. Moon and Minnie Hancock Moon.She wasmarried to the late Henry Taylor Sorrow and worked as a seamstress.She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Martha McPhearson,Lucy Slappy, and Lizzie Miller, and a brother, John T. Moon. Mrs. Sorrow is survived by a son, Douglas Sorrow, daughters Vaneitta Collins and Debbie Whitsel,six granchildren,and nine great-grandchildren.She is also survived by sisters Rebecca Paul of Carlton, Eullaia Bennett of Bowman, Clara Seymour and Betty Jean Waters, both of Comer,and brother Richard Moon of Fayetteville, Georgia. Funeral services for Mrs. Sorrow will be Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home Chapel.Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.Interment will be at Glade Cemetery in Carlton, Georgia.Rev. Douglas Duncan will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Zach Whitsel, Shane Collins, Taylor Graham, Leonard Collins, Ryan Wills, and Wayne Sorrow.
