Mr. John Franklin "Jay" Green, Jr., 82, of Reed Brawner Road, Royston, husband of 62 years to Audrey Mae Pullian Green, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at St. Mary's Hospital with his children at his side.
Mr. Green was born in Tarpon Springs, FL on June 17, 1937, son of the late John Franklin Green, Sr. and Iva Dell Malone Green. He was a retired maintenance employee having worked in air condition and refrigeration. Mr. Green was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member and former deacon of Unity Baptist Church. He was an avid woodworker and Florida Gator fan.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey; children and their spouses: Amanda and William Bemis of Crystal River, FL, Debra and Gary Spung of Vanna, and Curtis Jay and Lisa Green of Goldmine; siblings: Laverne Taylor of Cleveland, TN and Chuck Green of Augusta; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son, John Franklin Green, III.
A private celebration of life will be held. Inurnment will be in the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in Mr. Green's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
