Jean Oglesby Smith

Mrs. Jean Oglesby Smith, 80, of Shelton Avenue, Elberton, wife of the late Windele Gene “Pete” Smith, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Smith was born in Elberton on October 4, 1939, daughter of the late Joe and Lucille Helen Moon Oglesby. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children: Gary Gene Smith and his wife Sabina of New Mexico and Lisa Smith Mullins and her husband Kenneth of Elberton; brothers: W.L. “Boots” Oglesby and Jerry Oglesby, both of Elberton; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Oglesby.

Private graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 18, at Elmhurst Cemetery.
