Jean Wynn Smith, 80, loving wife of 56 years to the late Raymond Homer Smith, died Friday, November 5, 2021 at McCall Hospice House.
A native of Greenville, she was a daughter of the late James Henry and Mary Burns Wynn.
Jean was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She had worked at Furman University for 46 years in James B. Duke Library before retiring in 2005.
She is survived by two daughters, Alice Smith of Easley and Rachel Suttles (Ricky); granddaughter, Ashley Johnson (Matt); niece, Lisa W. Jackson (Todd); and a nephew, Jim Wynn (Amy).
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Hugh Wynn and David Wynn.
Friends may pay their respects from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
As a final farewell to Furman, we will take a scenic tour of the campus on her way to her eternal resting place.
