Mrs. Jeanette Brown Burdette, 82, of Double Bridges Road, Elberton, wife of 66 years to Jesse W. Burdette, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Burdette was born in Hart County on June 25, 1932, to the late Samuel Newt and Flora Hunt Brown. She was a retired beautician and a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Jeanette loved traveling, spending time with her family, and gardening. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children and their spouses: Lanier and Peggy Burdette, Donald and Joan Burdette, Linda Burdette and friend Bubba Davis, Ralph Burdette, and Roger and Beth Burdette, all of Elberton; sisters and their husbands: Aldyne and Michael Vaughn of Key West, FL and Joanne and Ronnie Brown of Elberton; thirteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Jimmy, Raymond, Stanley, and Thomas Brown. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 11:00a.m. in Harmony Baptist Church with the Revs. Lyn Kellum and David McConnell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Burdette will be placed in the church at 10:00a.m. to lie instate until the hour of service. The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Friday evening.
