Jerrol Wade Almond

Mr. Jerrol Wade Almond, 77, of Statham, Georgia passed away at his home on Saturday, May 10, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Jerrol was born in Elberton to the late Wester Jesse and Sallie Elizabeth Bowers Almond.He was the husband of Joan Thompson Almond for over 52 years, and was a veteran of the United States Navy.Jerrol was President and co-owner of The Woodman Company in Decatur, Georgia In addition to his wife, Jerrol is survived by his children: Jeff Almond (Debbie) of Statham, Sonya Noggle (Kevin) of Athens, Tim Almond (Jennifer) of Statham, and Ryan Almond (Kelly) of Dacula.He also leaves behind ten grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mr. Almond’s life was held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Adams officiating.Visitation for family and friends was Monday evening, May 12, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Entombment followed at Elmhurst Cemetery.Pallbearers were: Mike Thompson, Blake Thompson, Ben Thompson, Jeff Almond, Tim Almond, and Ryan Almond.Grandsons served as Honorary Pallbearers. Hicks Funeral Home of Elberton was honored to serve the family of Mr. Jerrol Wade Almond.
