Jerry Kenneth Adams

Mr. Jerry Kenneth Adams, 89, of Elberton, husband of 70 years to the late Sarah Christine McElhannon Adams, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Jerry, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born in Decatur on August 25, 1935, son of the late Alton Parker Adams, Sr. and Ada Lou Willis Adams.

While living in Decatur, Jerry and Christine were very active members of Midway Presbyterian Church. In the mid 1990s, they moved to Elberton and joined Concord United Methodist Church where they became dedicated members for many years. Jerry retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service. Jerry loved the outdoors and in his younger days enjoyed quail hunting, deer hunting and fishing. Jerry's favorite outdoor activity was golf and he always looked forward to a tee time at Little Mountain and Cateechee.

He is survived by his only daughter April Adams Case and son-in-law Ted Case of Fair Play, South Carolina; his grandchildren: grandson Andy Case (Victoria Forrister) of Smyrna, Georgia and granddaughter Abby Case Brown (RC Brown) of Savannah, Georgia; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services celebrating Jerry’s life will be conducted on Sunday, April 13, at 4:00p.m. at his beloved Concord United Methodist Church in Elberton with the Rev. Bryan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. After the service the family will host friends and family for a small reception in the church fellowship hall.
