Jerry Lamar Johnson

Mr. Jerry Lamar Johnson, 73, of Pine Hill Drive, Elberton, husband of the late Carolyn Christine Rousey Johnson, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Johnson was born in Elberton on August 25, 1946, son of the late John Thomas Johnson and France Louise Thornton Johnson. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam and attended Dewy Rose Baptist Church. Jerry was a retired granite polisher and was currently working at the Petersburg Recycling Center.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin “Fluff” and Dana Johnson and Keith Johnson, all of Elberton; one grandchild, Carmen Johnson; one step-grandchild, Blake Turner; and brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Lynn Johnson of Dewy Rose.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Dallas Johnson and Beverly Jean Johnson.

At Jerry’s request, no formal services will be held. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Navy during a private ceremony. Inurnment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park at a later date.
